Q: Why can we only go back 3 years for a refund? |
A: THAT’S THE LAW! However, it is actually closer to 5 years that we will be getting back. The law only allows for a refund of three years from the year in which we file. This works out to a retroactive refund of closer to 4 years if we can make application before December 31 as the current year would be the fourth year. By the time that the entire procedure is complete, we will also be recovering a good portion of the next years payments as well (the fifth year). |
