Frequently Asked Questions - Disability Tax Credit

You advertisement states a refund of up to $50,000. How is that possible?
$50,000 is the maximum refund we have seen. The average refund is in the $5,000 to $6,000 range. Some are less and some are more - up to $50,000 as our ad states. Once you are qualified for a Disability Tax Credit (DTC) it opens the door to allow you to claim certain medical expenses that were previously not claimable. So if you have significant medical expenses like attendant care or nursing home expenses, you can claim those instead of taking the tax credit. You can claim these eligible medical expenses for up to the past 10 years or to when your doctor certifies that your health condition became severe. In this situation it can very quickly add up to a $50,000 refund.
